A technician capable of diagnosing and repairing most systems of the automobile, with little guidance or support from an A-Tech, Shop Foreman, or Team Leader. Efficient and effective at on the job learning to apply to new vehicles and technology when concerns arise. Improved diagnostic skills through training & experience, and competent in complex mechanical repairs.
High School
1-3 years
Confident diagnosing and repairing engines, electrical, HVAC, suspension, brakes, and drivetrains
Comfortable working independently with minimal support from an A-Tech, Foreman, or Team Lead
Able to learn and adapt quickly to new technology and unfamiliar vehicles
Competent in complex mechanical work like engine or transmission R&R
Dealership experience preferred, but not required
Professional, reliable, and takes pride in quality work
Valid driver’s license and personal tools required
Rate based on experience, skill level, and productivity
Full-time hours with consistent workflow

Hyundai welcomes experienced technicians from other OEMs. The program allows technicians with training from an industry-recognized source, other than Hyundai, to test out of certain Hyundai instructor-led technical training courses, provided they meet certain requirements.
