Overall Summary
Provide customers (both internal and external) requested parts and accessories in a timely manner. In addition to specifying the correctly needed items, the Parts Counterperson is responsible to solicit additional sales; charges out merchandise using the Dealer Management System, follow-up on special orders, tag, store and process warranty parts, assist in conducting inventory cycle counts and keep inventory area, parts counter and retail area/displays clean and orderly.

Position Summary
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the dealership's Service Department, Sales Department, and wholesale and retail customers. This role ensures accurate parts identification, ordering, inventory management, and timely delivery of parts to maximize technician efficiency and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist technicians, service advisors, sales staff, and retail customers by accurately identifying and supplying the correct parts.
Process parts requests promptly to support same-day vehicle repairs and minimize technician downtime.
Utilize manufacturer catalogs and dealership software to identify parts, pricing, and availability.
Order parts from approved vendors while monitoring delivery times and backorders.
Receive, inspect, verify, and stock incoming parts accurately.
Maintain inventory accuracy through proper stocking, labeling, cycle counts, and inventory control procedures.
Process warranty parts, returns, cores, and credits in accordance with manufacturer and dealership policies.
Prepare and fulfill wholesale and retail customer orders efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department and warehouse.
Communicate effectively with service advisors, technicians, and customers regarding order status and availability.
Assist with annual physical inventory and ongoing inventory management initiatives.
Follow all dealership safety policies and manufacturer procedures.
Promote a positive, professional image of Killeen Hyundai through exceptional customer service and teamwork.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One or more years of automotive parts experience preferred.
Hyundai dealership experience is a plus.
Knowledge of automotive systems and components.
Ability to interpret parts catalogs and manufacturer resources.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with dealership management software (CDK experience preferred).
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
Must be able to work in varying warehouse and shop conditions.
